Biography

Agnes Louise Real, 81, of McCook, died Tuesday evening (Feb. 1, 2005) at McCook Community Hospital.

She was born April 30, 1923, to Milton Reed and Gladys Viola (White) Witt in Cedar Bluffs, Kan. She grew up on the family farm near Cedar Bluffs. She graduated from Decatur County High School in Oberlin in 1940 and did post graduate work in business. She then moved to Denver where she worked for the National Biscuit Company.

On April 30, 1943, she married Charles "Chuck" E. Real in Denver. They moved to McCook in 1946.

She enjoyed her life as a homemaker. She was employed by Fallick's Bakery in McCook and was also an Avon representative. She retired, after 21 years, as ward clerk at St. Catherine's Hospital and McCook Community Hospital. In 1981, she was honored by the hospital with the Caring Kind Award.

She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. She was active in the Altar Society, Fatima Circle and various bible study groups. She served on the board of the Christian Women's Club. One of her favorite pastimes for 55 years, was playing in a card group, the DLD, which she helped to form in November of 1949.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Chuck, Oct. 28, 1999; and a brother, Waldene Witt.

Survivors include her daughter, Cathy and husband, Ken Davis of McCook; her son, Chuck Real, Jr. and wife, Marita of Omaha; three granddaughters, Tobi S. Hunter of Loveland, Colo., Brianna M. Davis of Denver, Colo., Myla M. Gish and husband, Shawn of Omaha; one great-granddaughter, McKenna Catherine Hunter of Loveland, Colo.; her brother Duane Witt and wife, Carol of Oberlin; and her sister Dorothy Potts of Amarillo, TX.; and by a "Special Family", Mark and Josie Youngberg of Omaha.

Memorials may be given in her name.

Visitation will be Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home. Friends may sign her book at the funeral home or send condolences online at www.carpenterbreland.com.

The Rosary will be Friday, Feb. 4th, at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home at 6:30 p.m.

Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 5th, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with Father Jerel Scholl and Father Tom Bush officiating.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
