Albert Otto Hartman

Albert Otto Hartman of Hayes Center passed away Monday, May 2, 2011 at El Dorado Manor Nursing Home in Trenton. He was 92 years old.

Albert was born on March 22, 1919 in Holidays Cove, West Virginia to Michael Moritz and Louise (Palin) Hartman. He graduated from Salem Ohio High School in 1938. He continued his education at People’s Bible College in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

On June 4, 1946, he was united in marriage to Louie Lea Steward at Colorado Springs. To this union five children were born. Albert’s ministry took them to several states before locating to Hayes Center. He retired in 1990 after serving the Lord for 45 years. Louie Lea preceded him in death on April 10, 1990.

On August 2, 1991, he married Eva Maxine Bardo in Colorado Springs. They continued to make Hayes Center their home. Albert’s favorite pass time included fishing, gardening and doing carpentry work.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Louise Hartman; his wife, Louie Lea; one sister, Louise Ingledue; and five brothers, Fred, Walter, Johnny, Raymond and Morris Hartman.

Survivors include his wife, Eva Hartman of Hayes Center; two daughters, Leah Hartman of Hayes Center and Jeannie Hartman of Lexington, KY; three sons, Carrol Hartman and wife, Margie, of Bowling Green, KY, Kenneth Hartman and wife, Diane, of Brownsville, KY, and Morris Hartman and wife, Bobbi, of Peetz, CO; one brother, Leroy Hartman and wife, Patricia, of Salem, OH; one sister, Mary Ann and husband, Junior Blythe, of Lisbon, OH; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Memorials may be given in his name.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 5, at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home in McCook from 1-8:00 p.m. Cremation will follow the visitation and a memorial service is planned at a later date.

Carpenter Breland Funeral Home of McCook is in charge of the arrangements.
