Alfred "Tuff' C. Seals, Sr. died Sunday, December 13, 2009 at Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook. He was 90 years old.
On October 19, 1919, Alfred was born in Freedom, Nebraska to George and Margaret Ann (Cutrell) Seals. He grew up in Frontier County and graduated school Havenna High School.
Wanda M. Mitchell and "Tuff" were married in McCook on January 31, 1942. They had a son Alfred and three daughters, Charlene, Donna and Renee. He lived all his life in this area.
He was a member of the McCook Elks Lodge # 1434.
He worked for the Debus Baking Company and the Old Home Bread for more than 30 years. He loved and enjoyed his children and grandchildren as well as the outdoors, hunting, farming, gardening and watching football on television.
Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Wanda on February 16, 2009; a brother, Archie; and sisters, Georgie Wood, Opal Gillen, Leota Ernest, and Dorothy Brady.
Survivors include: his children; Alfred C. (Carol) Seals, Jr. of Nicholasville, KY, Charlene (Dennis) Peters of Williamsburg, VA, Donna (Don) Hartley of Lincoln and Renee (Steve) Fritz of McCook; a sister, Bonnie Davis of Penleton, OR; 15 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be addressed to the American Cancer Society.
Funeral services were Tuesday, December 15, 2009, 11 a.m. at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home in McCook with Jerry Beckenhauer officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery in McCook.
