AmyJo Stone, age 18, of McCook died Thursday, September 3, 2009 near North Platte as a result of a motor vehicle accident.
AmyJo was born to Roger and Donna (Roberts) Stone in McCook on June 28, 1991. She attended St. Patrick's Elementary and graduated from McCook High School with the class of 2009, where she played tennis. She was currently enrolled at McCook Community College at the time of her death. She was employed by Chief Restaurant.
AmyJo loved to play softball and all animals especially her pet cats and dogs, and spending time with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by two uncles, infant Thomas Roberts and Steve Conder.
Survivors include her father, J. Roger Stone and wife, Hannah, of Kearney; mother, Donna Stone of McCook; two brothers, J.D. Stone and friend, Katie Gill, both of Kearney and Kolton Stone of McCook; maternal grandparents, Donald and Agnes Roberts of McCook; paternal grandparents, James and JoAnn Stone of Sun City, AZ; step-brother, Ben of Kearney; aunts and uncles, Loretta Conder and her son, Jeffery of Raton, NM, Bill Roberts of McCook, Richard Roberts and son, Joey, of Alamosa, CO, Jim Roberts and wife, Carrie, and their children, Luke, Natalie and Gabriel of McCook, Barb and husband, Jonathan Slaton and their children, Elizabeth, Scott, TaoZhu and Quinn, of Marshall, VA and Grant Stone and wife, Cathy, and their children, Shiela, Mike and Grant, Jr., of Taneytown, MD; and a host of friends.
Memorials were to be given in her name.
Mass of Christian burial took place Monday, September 7, 2009, 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with Father Gary Brethour officiating, with burial in Calvary Cemetery.
Carpenter Breland Funeral Home of McCook was in charge of the arrangements.
