Andrew VanCura

Andrew Dean "Andy" VanCura died Friday, December 23, 2005, at his rural home near Hayes Center. He was 40 years old.

Andy was born on March 25, 1965, at Ogallala, to Delmar Dean and Charlette Ann (Hood) VanCura. He attended school in Madrid and received his GED in 1996.

On March 21, 2004, he married Misty Dawn Brannin in Hayes Center. Andy was a miner for Garrett Sand and Gravel. In his free time he enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Preceding him in death were his son, James Dean VanCura; and grandparents, Lewis and Lola Ramsey.

Survivors include his wife, Misty VanCura, of Hayes Center; one daughter, Laura VanCura of McCook; two sons, Larry VanCura, presently serving in Iraq and Lucas VanCura of the home; parents, Delmar and Dee VanCura and Charlette and Ralph Casey, Jr. all of Ogallala; two brothers, Daniel VanCura and wife, Pearl, of Hayes Center and Ralph Casey, III of Ogallala; and four sisters, Andrea and husband, Clyde Reimers, of Lexington, Darla Casey and fiancé©, Terry Walkenhorst, of North Platte, Leanne Hood and fiancé©, Mike Heble, of Ogallala and Lori and husband, Pat Watts, of Ogallala.

Memorials may be given in his name.

Visitation will be Tuesday, until 8:00 p.m. at Carpenter Breland. Friends may go online at www.carpenterbreland.com to extend condolences.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, December 28, 2005, 10:30 a.m. at the Palisade United Methodist Church with Rev. Judy Dye and Rev. Fay Ann Blaylock officiating. Cremation will follow the service and a private family inurnment will be held at a later time in the Wallace Cemetery.

Carpenter Breland Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
