Biography

"Tony" Anthony Paul Conroy died Monday, April 19, 2004 at Sidney as a result of a motorcycle accident.

He was born June 5, 1962 to Thomas Joseph and Bertilla Ann (Hickert) Conroy at McCook.

He graduated from McCook High School in 1980. After graduation he worked in the oil fields in the surrounding area for 13 years. In 1992 he started ACE Welding. In February 1997 he moved to Scottsbluff where he continued his business and started work for RC Welding for three years. He resumed ACE Welding in 2001. On February 20, 1998 he married Becky Scott in Scottsbluff and to this union a son, Dillon was born.

He was an avid sportsman, enjoying hunting, blue rock shooting, coyote hunting and motorcycle riding.

Preceding him in death was: his mother Bertilla; grandparents, Phillip Lawrence and Catherine Conroy, Al and Amanda Hickert, Perry & Arietta Doak, Harley and Helen Scott.

Survivors include: his wife Becky and son Dillon of Scottsbluff; step-daughter, Kendra Scott; step-granddaughter, Hailey Chafin both of Cheyenne, Wyo.; father, Tom Conroy of McCook; a brother, Phil Conroy of Lincoln; five sisters, Cindy Baumgartner of Edgewater, CO, Monica Conroy of Harlingen, TX, Deb Leach and husband Don of Danbury, Theresa Walters and husband Denny of Danbury, and Pam Herron and husband John of McCook; father-in-law, Ron and wife Julie Scott of Hayes Center; mother-in-law, Janet Lawver of Kearney; sister-in-laws, Lisa Peters of McCook, Misti Moreau of Lincoln, Crystal and husband Todd Abraham of Edison; brother-in-laws, Jerry and wife Tracey Scott of Palisade, Harley and wife Valerie Scott of Franklin; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Dillon Conroy Educational Fund.

Rosary was Friday at the Carpenter Breland Chapel with Father Jerel Scholl officiating. Funeral services were Saturday at 1 p.m. with Jerry Beckenhauer officiating. Burial took place in Calvary Cemetery.

Carpenter Breland Funeral Home of McCook was in charge of arrangements.
