Biography
Our beloved Mother, Arlene Iris Jensen, died Thursday, November 13, 2008, from complications from COPD, at the Columbus Hospice House in Columbus, GA. She was 87 years old.
She was born in McCook, October 6, 1921, to Claude and Edna (Reeves) Myers of Culbertson, Nebr.
She was preceded in death by her husband Fred Jensen on July 24, 1987; her daughter, Iris Ann Jensen; two sisters Betty Murphy, and Maxine Glendenning; and her three brothers Cloyd Myers, Bernard Myers and Dewayne Myers.
She is survived by her daughter Patsy Jensen Davis and her husband, Billy, of Columbus, GA; her son Gary (Skip) Jensen of Oberlin, KS; two sisters Shirley Seeman and husband, Herb, of Oberlin and Virginia Roberts of Salem, OR; sisters-in-law, Sina Ruggles of Indianola and Mary Jensen of Mead/Longmont, CO ;four grandchildren, Brandi Whitney, Robert Davis, Kerri Houston, Kathleen Smith and thirteen great-grandchildren. Christian Whitney, Taylor Whitney, Nicholas Whitney, Landon Whitney, Aidan Whitney, Ethan Whitney, Destiny Davis, Caylan Davis, Jonathan Houston, Sean Patrick Houston, Alexis Houston, Madeline Smith and Jamie Jr. Smith.
Memorials were to be given in her name.
Graveside services were held at Memorial Park Cemetery on Tuesday, November 18, 2008, 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. Jeff Thurman officiating. Burial took place in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Carpenter Breland Funeral Home of McCook was in charge of the arrangements.
