Arley William Steinhour, age 79, of Bartley, NE passed away at his home in Bartley on October 10, 2018.

Arley was born October 19, 1938 in Scottsbluff, NE to parents Arley Rhea and Lucinda Marie (Ewing) Steinhour.  He was one of nine children born to this union.  The family moved numerous times over the years, eventually settling in McCook, NE where Arley attended school, graduating with the Class of 1956.  Arley then went on to obtain his Associate’s Degree in Applied Science from Grossmont College in California.  Arley married Leana (Lofton) Steinhour on September 8, 1957 at the United Methodist Church in McCook.  The couple was blessed with five children.

Arley proudly served his country in the United States Navy, retiring in 1979.

Arley will be remembered for his ability to write.  Over the course of his life, he wrote thousands of religious poems, many of which were published in the McCook Gazette.  He was also a welcomed blogger for the local newspaper.  Arley was a past member of the McCook Eagles.

Arley was greeted in Heaven by his parents; high school sweetheart, Leana (Lofton) Steinhour; brothers, Ronald D. Steinhour, Kevin Henny, Kenny Henny  and Kelly Mortinson; and sisters,  Mary J. Robinson, Patricia Kaufmann, Sharon Steinhour and Kathy Kersey.

Those left to mourn his passing include four sons, Ricky (Rose Fringer) Steinhour of Holbrook, NE, William (Andrea Dovidio) Steinhour of Herndon, VA, Michael (Penny Larson) Steinhour of Westminster, CO and Joseph Steinhour of Edison, NE; daughter, Rebecca Steinhour of McCook; brother, Jack (Norma) Steinhour of California; sister, Colleen (Mike) Williams of Washington; sixteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
