Barbara Gail (Luther) Weskamp, age 74, of Denver, Colorado, formerly of Indianola and McCook, Nebraska, passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at The Springs at St. Andrew’s Village in Aurora, CO.
Barbara was born on December 2, 1947, to parents Kenneth Charles and Louise Marion (Streff) Luther. She was the youngest of three children. Barbara graduated from Indianola High School in 1966 and then attended Weaver Airline School. After graduation in 1967, she worked for Eastern Airlines in Chicago, Illinois as a reservationist. She also met her future husband of 54 years there, even though they grew up only 10 miles apart from each other on farms in Nebraska.
On April 20, 1968, Barbara married her beloved Lonnie Paul Weskamp at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Indianola. They moved to Colorado and raised four children there, two daughters and two sons. Barbara was a wonderful mother, wife, and homemaker for many years. Later, she was a paraprofessional for Denver Public Schools for 11 years. After moving back to Nebraska in 2002, she continued being a teacher's assistant for McCook Elementary School for 15 years.
Barbara could always be counted on to provide a helping hand with a smile every time. She enjoyed sewing, yardwork, playing Canasta, solving puzzle books, and baking. Her delicious Christmas cookies, homemade noodles, and zucchini bread will be greatly missed.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; son, Steven Weskamp; in-laws, Larry (Jeniene) Lashley; and niece, Renee Bajza.
Barbara is survived by her husband, Lonnie; daughter, Erica (David) Potvin; son, Philip (Patsy) Weskamp; daughter, Nancy (Nick) Rooney; daughter-in-law, Melissa Weskamp; grandchildren, Andrew, Megan, Dawson, Audrey, and Aidan; brother, Clayton (Marilyn) Luther; sister, Susie Davidson; and many nieces and nephews.
