Barbara Scarrow, age 82, passed away Thursday, September 22, 2016 at Community Hospital of McCook.
Barbara was born May 22, 1934 to Ray B. and Gladys M. (Reeves) Scarrow in Mankato, KS. She graduated from Benkelman High School in 1954.
Over the years, Barbara worked as a CNA at several different nursing homes in St. Francis, KS and Benkelman, NE.
Barbara always enjoyed the church services at El Dorado Manor. She also liked crocheting, embroidery and playing bingo. In her younger years, she enjoyed working in her yard and garden.
Survivors include her brother, Cecil Scarrow and wife, Ferma of McCook; sisters-in-law, Shirley Scarrow and Gwen DeVries; seven nephews and one niece; and other numerous family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Larry, Orville and an infant brother at birth; two nieces, Jennifer and Julianne Scarrow; two nephews, Steven and Shawn Scarrow; and a great niece, Brittani Daily.
Visitation will be Monday, September 26, 2016 from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home with the family greeting friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.
Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at Mount Hope Cemetery in Beaver City with Richard Stahly officiating, with burial to follow.
Memorials may be given in her name.
Carpenter Breland Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
