Barrnett "Barney" R. Leitner

Barrnett "Barney" R. Leitner, age 81, died Saturday, October 18, 2008 near Seward.
He was born May 5, 1927 to Edward W. and Elsie M. (Albrecht) Leitner in McCook.
He married Lola G. Jones in Oberlin on November 17, 1946. To this union three sons were born, Royce, Laney and Dennis. He farmed southwest of McCook, in his free time he played piano and guitar, he enjoyed his family and friends, and traveling on his motorcycle.
He was a member of the First Assembly of God.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Elsie; two sisters, Doris Jones, Maxine Ross; brothers-in-law Don Hodson, Everett Jones and Owen Jones.
He is survived by his wife, Lola Leitner of McCook; sons Royce Leitner and wife, Vicky of Oberlin, Laney Leitner and wife, Judy, Dennis Leitner and wife, Linda all of North Platte; brother-in-law, Porter Ross; sister-in-law Karen Hodson both of McCook; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Memorials were to be given in his name.
Funeral services were Wednesday, October 22, 2008, 11:00 a.m. at the First Assembly of God with Pastor Eddie Wright officiating.
Carpenter Breland Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
