Betheen "Beth" Myers

June 8, 1940 — March 27, 2021

Arvada, CO

Beth Myers, loving mother and longtime Arvada community advocate and resident, passed away peacefully with her family by her side Saturday March 27th, 2021.

Beth was born June 8th, 1940 in McCook Nebraska, to Marion and Harriet Smith.  She graduated from Bartley High School and went on to graduate from The University of Nebraska, Lincoln with a BS in English.  She moved to Denver after graduating to start a career as a High School English teacher.

She was married to Jay D. Myers May 1964 and was widowed in August 2012.

Beth was a loving and dedicated wife and mother who tirelessly served those in need.  Early on, Beth and her sister volunteered at youth homes, spending hours holding and rocking babies that needed human touch.  She was a longtime member of the Arvada Kiwanis Club, taking part in and running numerous community fundraisers.  She volunteered at Meals-on-Wheels, helped make hundreds of burritos each winter to help feed the hungry in Denver, and hand-made countless scarves and mittens for the homeless in Arvada.  Even in her senior living facility, Morning Star, while suffering from dementia, she led a group of residents in making scarves and mittens for the homeless.  Beth was a force – tough yet selfless, giving, kind, humble, and bright.  She touched each and every person who was fortunate enough to meet her and will be forever missed.

Beth is survived by her loving son Steve, daughter-in-law Robin, and grandsons Casey and Nate; her loving daughter Barbara, son-in-law Greg and granddaughter Emma.
