Beverly Sue Berndt of Lincoln, originally of Trenton, passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at Sunrise Country Manor. She was 57 years old.
Beverly was born on November 11, 1954 at McCook to Gilbert Everett and Phyllis G. (Fritz) Berndt. She was baptized at McCook Peace Lutheran Church on December 12, 1954 and later confirmed at Trenton Grace Lutheran Church April 7, 1968 by the Rev. R. Einspahr. She graduated from Trenton High School in 1973 where she participated in track, volleyball, and 4-H. She continued her education at Northwest Kansas Technical College in Goodland, KS studying Computer Programming. She worked for a local law office in Goodland before moving to Lincoln in 1980 where she worked for Health and Human Services as a secretary until her retirement in 2006.
Beverly loved to collect Barbie dolls, spend time on her computer and watch TV.
Beverly was a member of Peace Lutheran Church and Trenton VFW Auxiliary, Massacre Canyon Post 10561.
Preceding her in death were her father, Gilbert of May 26, 1998; her maternal grandparents, Christian and Opal Fritz and paternal grandparents, Gus and Mary Berndt.
Survivors include her mother, Phyllis Berndt of Trenton; brother, Rodney Berndt of Trenton; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends.
Memorials may be given in her name.
Visitation will be Sunday, December 18, 2011 at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home in McCook from 4-8:00 p.m. with family present to greet friends.
Funeral services will be Monday, December 19, 2011, 10:30 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church with Pastor Tom Albertson officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery with a VFW Auxiliary committal service.
