Beverly Ann Fritz of Indianola died Thursday, April 23, 2009 at Cambridge Memorial Hospital. She was 71 years old.

Beverly was born on July 14, 1937, in Cambridge to Walter E. and Loretta Elizabeth (Kehr) Baker. She attended Cambridge Public Schools.

On February 10, 1957, she was united in marriage to George Albert Fritz at Peace Lutheran Church in McCook. To this union four children were born. They made their home on a farm south of Indianola where Bev was an instrumental part in their farming operation. She also worked for Ag Valley and Fairacres Greenery for many years.

Bev was confirmed in May of 1957 at Peace Lutheran Church where she remained a member until her death. She taught Sunday school, served as youth counselor and was a member of the Forerunners Club. She loved collecting angels and butterflies, working in her yard and spending time with her grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Walter and Loretta Baker; three brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include her husband of more than 52 years, George Fritz of Indianola; three daughters, Pam Shears of Grand Island, Katherine and husband, Rod Leak, of Broken Bow and Donna Rawn of Bartley; one son, Larry Fritz and wife, Corina, of Indianola; one brother, Albert “Ed” Baker and wife, Sophia, of Lincoln; one sister, Mary Oglesby of Lincoln; 12 grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Memorials were to be given in her name to the Leukemia Foundation or Peace Lutheran Church Building Fund.

Memorial services were Monday, April 27, 2009, 10:30 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church in McCook with Vicar Tom Albertson officiating. Inurnment took place in rural Indianola Trinity Lutheran Cemetery at 2:00 p.m.

Carpenter Breland Funeral Home of McCook was in charge of the arrangements.
