Billy Roland "B.J." Grossman passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at Community Hospital in McCook. He was 72 years old.
B.J. was born to Robert M. and June Rose (Thomas) Grossman on July 2, 1940 at Big Springs, Nebraska. He graduated from McCook High School in 1957. Billy drove a semi, did mechanical work and made turquoise jewelry. He later became owner and operator of B.J. Satellite for over 30 years and was still working at the time of his death.
On December 19, 1959 he was united in marriage to Doris K. Payton at Danbury. To this union five children were born. B.J. was a family man and enjoyed his time with them often going fishing, camping and hunting at nearby lakes. He also enjoyed Husker Football as well as following Pro Football, stock car racing and working in his yard.
Preceding him in death were his father, Robert Grossman; wife, Doris Grossman on October 7, 2009; two infant sons, Robert and Scott; and brother, Donald Grossman.
Survivors include his three daughters, Billie Vaught of McCook, Terry Grossman of Kearney, and Jackie Nitsch of McCook; mother, June Grossman of McCook; brother, Jimmy Grossman of McCook; brother-in-law, Kent Kotschwar of McCook; four grandchildren, Amber Guerrero, Faith Cook, Jessica Garton, and Jerry Rowden; and five great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of customers and friends.

A gathering of friends and family will be held Friday, August 3, 2012 from 2-4:00 p.m. at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home in McCook. An inurnment will follow at the Danbury Cemetery with Jerry Beckenhauer officiating.
