Burdette "Stubb" Edward Golding

Burdette “Stubb” E. Golding, age 90, of Stratton, NE passed away Saturday, January 6, 2018 at the El Dorado Manor in Trenton, NE.

Born October 6, 1927 to parents Clarence Emery and Lena Belle (Welch) Golding, Burdette grew up south of Stratton where he also attended school.   He was one of three siblings.

Burdette married Zelpha L. Cushing on September 12, 1948 in Stratton.  The couple made their home south of Stratton and was blessed with four children.  Burdette enjoyed many wonderful years farming and ranching with his family by his side.

Burdette was a lifelong resident of the Stratton community where he attended the Christian Union Church.  He served as a county commissioner and an EMT volunteer.  Burdette was a past member of the Farm Bureau and the McCook Public Power Board.

Burdette was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Donalane (June) Golding; and sister, Redonda (Bert) Latta.

He is survived by his wife, Zelpha Golding of Stratton; two sons, Scott (Betty) Golding and Bob Golding, all of Stratton; two daughters, Jane Marie (Dick Hansen) of Hastings, NE and Ann (Lynn) Sutton of Stratton; nine grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at 1PM at the Christian Union Church in Stratton.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 10, 2018, beginning at 2PM also at the Christian Union Church in Stratton with Pastor Kevin Fink officiating.

Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Stratton.
