Biography
Catherine Rose, age 88, died Thursday, September 7, 2006, at Hillcrest Nursing Home.
Catherine was born on August 13, 1918, at Clearwater, NE to Leo A. and Julia Catherine (Purcell) Rose. She moved to the McCook community as a small child. She graduated from McCook High School in 1935 and McCook College in 1937.
Catherine was employed as an accountant for Nebraska Public Power District for many years. She was also a caretaker for her two sisters, Clara and Margaret, when their health failed. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and Altar Society.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Leo and Julia Rose; two sisters, Margaret Rose and Clara Gray and her husband, Orville.
Survivors include her church family and a host of friends.
Memorials may be given in her name to Hillcrest Nursing Home Foundation.
Visitation will be Friday until 5:00 p.m., Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until noon and Sunday 4:00 p.m. until time of rosary. Friends may go online at www.carpenterbreland.com to extend condolences.
