Cecelia McConville

June 5, 1926 — March 18, 2008

Cecelia Rose McConville, age 81, died Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.

She was born June 5, 1926 to Oscar Allyn and Martha Victoria (Behnke) Teel in Freedom, Nebraska. She graduated from Havanna High School in 1943.

She married Charles McConville at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Indianola on May 29, 1947. To this union 10 children were born. She taught in rural schools for three years.

She was a member of St. Catherine's Catholic Church, the Altar Society and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was a member of the Grand Generation and the Indianola Good Friends for the grade school. She enjoyed her family, friends, playing cards, and playing the piano.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Martha; infant daughter Mary; three brothers, Lawrence Teel, Robert Teel and Ray Teel; two sisters, Mary Alice Teel and Gertrude Wagner.

She is survived by her husband, Charles of Indianola; sons, Duane McConville and wife, Leah of Des Moines, Donald McConville and wife, Pam of Indianola, Kenneth McConville of North Platte, Kevin McConville and wife, Kathy of San Diego, CA, Larry McConville of Austin, Texas; daughters, Amrita Burdick of Kansas City, MO, Diane McConville-Bieker and husband, Ron of Harrison, AR, Cheryl Linegar and husband, Dan of Hemingford, Annette Gruhn and husband James, of Yutan; brothers, Brother Harold Teel of Belize, Central America, and Brother Matthew Teel of Perryville, MO; sister, Clarissa Uerling of Ft. Smith, AR; 13 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.

Memorials were to be given in her name. The school was originally constructed in memory of her father, Oscar Teel.

Mass of Christian Burial was on Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Indianola with Father Thomas McGuire as Celebrant. Burial took place in St. Catherine's Catholic Cemetery.

Rosary was Monday, March 24, 2008, at 7:00 p.m. at St. Catherine's Catholic Church.

Carpenter Breland Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
