Chance Maret

Chance Maret, age 27, passed away in Gothenburg Memorial Hospital surrounded by family on August 10, 2024.

Chance was born in Cambridge, NE on August 26, 1996, to parents Stacy Maret and Ronda Marsh. He grew up with 5 siblings and graduated from Southwest High School in 2015. 

Chance loved writing, playing video games, and listening to music. Chance had a passion for writing, video games, and music. He found joy in the thrill of a good scary movie and the tranquility of camping under the stars. He was a big fan of Oakland Raiders and going on country drives Chance was a family man. He made time for those he loved, whether it was walking his dog with his mom, sharing stories with friends, or just being there when someone needed a listening ear. His warmth, kindness, and generous spirit touched the lives of everyone who knew him.

Those left to celebrate Chance’s life is his parents Stacy Maret and Ronda Marsh of Farnam, NE; maternal grandmother, Marlene Marsh of Holdrege, NE; brothers, Kacey Maret of Omaha, NE, Joshua (Jamie) Maret of Atwood, KS, Jesse Maret (Katie) of McCook, NE; sisters India Maret of Atwood, Kansas and Shayln Vaught of Lincoln, NE; and 12 nieces and nephews, several aunts, uncles and extended family. 

He is proceeded in death by maternal grandfather, Rodney Marsh; paternal grandparents LaVern and Georgia Maret; and cousin, Bryce Maret.

The family will host a celebration of life will be held on Friday, August 23, 2024 from 1-4 pm at the E-Free Church in McCook, NE.
