Charles W. Fickle, formerly of Culbertson, died Wednesday, November 1, 2006, at Haven Home in Kenesaw. He was 82.
Charles was born December 23, 1923 to James T. and Opal L. (Watt) Fickle at Lima, Ohio. He graduated from Shawnee High School, in Lima, in 1942.
He joined the U.S. Army in 1942. After he was honorably discharged in 1946, he worked for several businesses as a truck driver until 1975. He then started working for Dayco Rubber Hose Plant until he retired in 1985.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Opal Fickle; and three sisters, Helen, Mary and Icie.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Ann of McCook; daughter, LeAnn Frick and husband, Elmer of McCook; sons, Dale Fickle and wife, Virginia, of Culbertson, James Fickle and wife, Kathy, of Bartley, Charles Fickle of Escondido, Calif.; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be given in his name.
Memorial services were Monday, November 6, 2006, at Carpenter Breland Chapel with Jerry Beckenhauer officiating. Inurnment took place in the Culbertson Cemetery with military honors.
Carpenter Breland Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
