Charlotte L. Sahm

Charlotte L. Sahm of McCook, formerly of Indianola, died Wednesday, April 14, 2010, at Community Hospital in McCook. She was 82 years old.

Charlotte was born on April 28, 1927, in Clarksburg, West Virginia to Edward and Hazel Gladys (Powell) Munsey. She received her GED in 1977.

On October 22, 1946, she was united in marriage to Clarence Francis Sahm in Clarksburg. They moved to the Indianola community in 1947 where they raised their seven children. Charlotte was a busy mother and homemaker.

Charlotte served as the Indianola Librarian for many years. She enjoyed crafts, crocheting and knitting. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Edward and Hazel Munsey; her husband, Clarence Sahm in 1985; one son, Robert Sahm in 2000; and two grandchildren.

Survivors include her three sons, Fredward Sahm and wife, Cheri, of Omaha, Clarence "Clu" Sahm of Indianola and Michael Sahm of Modesto, CA; three daughters, Catherine and husband, Stephen McConnell, of McCook, Mary and husband, Kevin Swartz, of Dumas, TX and Elizabeth and husband, Murry Weiss, of McCook; two brothers, David Cross and wife, Peggy, of Bridgeport, WV and Robert Cross and wife, Betty, of Mico, TX; ten grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be given in her name to donor's choice.

Rosary took place on Monday, April 19, 2010, 1:30 p.m. at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Indianola. Mass of Christian burial immediately followed at 2:00 p.m. with Father Thomas McGuire officiating. Burial took place in St. Catherine's Cemetery.

Carpenter Breland Funeral Home of McCook was in charge of the arrangements.
