Clifford Leo Grube

Clifford Leo Grube passed away at McCook Community Hospital on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 to rest in the Lord and wait for Jesus calling.

Cliff was born and raised on a farm near New Salem, North Dakota to Fred H. and Rena (Buckland) Grube on February 12, 1919. He was the second of six children.

Cliff entered the Army in 1941, later met and married Elsie Nolan of Indianola, NE on January 10th 1945. To this union Judith, Ellen and Calvin were born.

Cliff was a member of the Indianola American Legion and V.F.W. Post #5826. He also served as a volunteer Fireman for many years. Cliff was an Elder of the Indianola Christian Church. He liked farming, gardening and in his younger days riding horses.

Cliff worked for the (I&RW) Indianola, Red Willow Coop for most of his life after WWII service years. Later he worked for Ervin Wudtke Construction and then on the Cliff Randel farm until retiring.

Preceding him in death are his parents; three brothers, Roland, Roger and Winston (Sam) Grube; brother-in-law, Lawrence Canter, sisters-in-law, Florence Grube and Minnie Grube; and son-in-law, Steve Hollers.

Survivors include, his wife of 67 years, Elsie Grube of Indianola, NE; daughters, Judy Hollers of Indianola, NE and Ellen Jackson and husband, Richard of Lincoln, NE; son, Calvin Grube and wife, Brenda of Indianola, NE; brother, Milton Grube of New Salem, ND; sister, Verda Canter of Denver, CO; six grandchildren, Justin Hollers, Jeff Hollers, Heidi (Hollers) Bridgmon, Eric Jackson, Ryan Jackson and Austin Grube; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be given in his name to the Indianola Fire Department.

There will not be a public visitation. The casket will be open at the funeral.

Funeral services will be Friday, December 7, 2012, 11:00 a.m. at Indianola Christian Church with Mike Searcey officiating.

Inurnment will be Monday, December 10, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Indianola Cemetery with military honors.
