Biography

Clifford Bernard Mihm of Indianola died Monday, February 11, 2008 at Community Hospital in McCook. He was 85 years old.

Clifford was born on July 15, 1922 at Indianola to Fred Henry and Anna Marie (Kircher) Mihm. He attended Indianola Public Schools.

On October 20, 1945, he was united in marriage to Sylvia Elizabeth Townsend in Indianola. To this union three children were born. They made their home on a farm in the Indianola community where they made their living farming. They moved to Indianola in 1997 after their retirement.

Clifford was a member of St. Catherine's Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus. He was a lifetime member of the McCook Elk's. He served on the county election board and supported the 4-H program. He loved his animals especially his dogs and cattle. Clifford was an avid hunter. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Fred and Anna Mihm; his wife, Sylvia, on October 19, 2002; two brothers, Albert and Clarence Mihm; and three sisters-in-law, Lena Mihm, Alma Mihm and Claudia Mihm.

Survivors include his three children, Myrna Snodgrass of Exeter, Ron Mihm and wife, Teresa, of Lincoln and Dennis Mihm and wife, Mary, of Indianola; brother, Harold Mihm of Wauneta; sister, Mildred and husband, John Weskamp, of McCook; brother-in-law, Delbert Townsend of Fort Washington, MD; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

Memorials were to be given in his name.

Rosary was lead by Indianola Knights of Columbus on Thursday, February 14, at 7:00 p.m. at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home

Mass of Christian Burial took place Friday, February 15, 2008, 10:00 a.m. at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Indianola with Father Thomas McGuire officiating. Burial in St. Catherine's Cemetery.

Carpenter Breland Funeral Home of McCook was in charge of the arrangements.
