Clint Bridges

September 10, 1926 — April 21, 2015

Clinton "Clint" Leroy Bridges, age 88, passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at his home in McCook surrounded by his family.

Clint was born September 10, 1926 in Norman, Nebraska to Roy C. and Ada L. (Preston) Bridges. He graduated from Minden High School In 1945 and three days later was drafted into the U.S. Army.

Clint joined the U. S. Army in May 1945 and was honorably discharged in December.

He married E. Ruth Worman in Inavale, Nebraska on December 4, 1948. To this union three children were born. They moved to McCook in 1976.

Clint and Ruth spent many years farming in the Red Cloud, Nebraska area. Clint loved the soil and his Black Angus cattle. In 1966 the family left the farm and moved to Greenwood. There Clint was Head Custodian/ bus driver for the Ashland/Greenwood Public Schools. They moved to McCook in 1976 where he worked for the Indianola Public Schools. He was a pilot and he loved flying his plane. He also loved to ride motorcycles and he enjoyed photography, but most of all he enjoyed people.

He was a member of McCook Christian Church. He was very involved as a Sunday school teacher and Bible Study Leader.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth of McCook; daughter, Ginnie Beckenhauer and husband, Darold of Wayne, NE; sons, Allan Bridges and wife, Sarah of North Platte, Chuck Bridges and wife, Marilyn of Yuma, CO; sister, Nevabelle Howe of Kearney, NE; sister-in-law, Ruth E. Bridges; 10 Grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Marvin and Carroll; and brother-in-law, Andrew Howe.

Visitation will be held Thursday, April 23, 2015 at Carpenter-Breland Funeral Home from 1 to 8 p.m. with family greeting friends from 5-7 p.m.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. at McCook Christian Church on Friday, April 24, 2015, with Pastor Clark Bates officiating. Burial will be in the Red Cloud Cemetery in Red Cloud, NE at 3:00 p.m. with Gail Portenier officiating.
