Colleen McVicker

Colleen McVicker, age 75, passed away in her home in Palisade, NE on January 29, 2025.

Colleen was born on April 7, 1949, to Ivan Clinton and Ruth Rosella (Matson) Moreau in McCook, NE. She grew up in the McCook area and graduated from McCook High School with the class of 1969. She was a homemaker throughout her life, but she also went to beauty school and was a farmhand. 

Colleen was first married to Billie Witt and from this union, Dennis, Byran, and Sarah were born. She later married Melvin McVicker where she gained three stepchildren. 

Colleen was a pool player and even made it to Vegas during her career. She loved spending time with family and friends. In her free time, Colleen enjoyed watching old western movies, horseback riding, and crocheting. Colleen was known for her famous “snack shack” during the summer fair. 

She is proceeded in death by her parents; husbands, Melvin McVicker and Billie Witt; daughter, Sarah Nelson Witt; son, Bryan Witt; brother, David Moreau; and brothers-in-law, David Heron and Richard Wright.

Those who will miss Colleen deeply are her son, Dennis (Sabrina) Witt of Tulia, TX; step children, Ron McVicker of Springfield, MO, Melanie McVicker of Omaha, NE, and Michelle (Patrick) Donovan of McCook, NE; brother, Johnie Moreau of Kearney, NE; sisters, Rebecca Heron of Lincoln, NE, Rose Ann Wright of Cambridge, NE, and Cathleen Blanton of Buffalo, MO; and 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. 

A graveside service will take place at the Palisade Cemetery, Palisade at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 1, 2025, with Eric Helmick officiating.
