Biography

Cozetta Lamoni Porter died Sunday, October 23, 2005 at Bryan LGH Hospital in Lincoln. She was 73 years old.

Cozetta was born on February 18, 1932 in Frontier County to Louis C. and Clarissa M. (Blake) Fritsche. She graduated from Maywood High School in 1950.

On April 8, 1950, she married Vernon L. Porter at the Methodist Church in Maywood. To this union three children were born Nancy, twins Larry and Mary Lou. They made their home in Maywood, Hayes Center and later moving to Lincoln in 1977, where she was residing at the time of her death. Cozetta was employed as a computer operator for a bank.

Preceding her death were her parents Louis and Clarissa Fritsche; twin daughter, Mary Lou; and three brothers-in-law, Richard Otto Blake, Dale Porter and Ronald Baker.

Survivors include her husband, Vernon Porter of Lincoln; daughter, Nancy Fricke of Ogallala; son, Larry Porter and wife, Marjorie, of McCook; three grandsons, Douglas Fricke, Jr. and wife, Connie Ayres, of Council Bluffs, IA, Travis Porter of Beatrice and Trevor Porter and wife, Vanessa, of Wichita, KS; one granddaughter, Tracy and husband, Chris Jaeger of Cheyenne, WY; two great-grandsons, James and Wyatt Jaeger of Cheyenne; one great-granddaughter, Tressa Porter of Wichita; one brother Paul Fritsche and wife, LaVina of McCook; one sister Mildred Baker of Papillion; three sisters-in-law Vertice Porter of Crestview, FL, Mildred Blake of Bennett, CO and Roberta and husband, Delbert Maris of McCook; one brother-in-law, Ivan Porter of Nashville, TN; an aunt, Wilma Blake of Colorado Springs, CO; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be at Roper & Sons Funeral Home in Lincoln on Tuesday, October 25, from 2:00 until 9:00 p.m. The family will be greeting friends from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Visitation in McCook will be Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until time of rosary and Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Friends may go online at www.carpenterbreland.com to extend condolences.

Rosary will be Thursday at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home in McCook at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, Oct. 28, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with Father Gary Brethour officiating. Burial will be in the Maywood Cemetery.
