Cynthia L. Kohmetscher
March 30, 1955 — July 10, 2014
Cynthia L. Kohmetscher, age 59, of McCook, Nebraska passed away July 10, 2014 at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska.
Cindy was born March 30, 1955 in Quinter, Kansas to parents Kenneth R. and Ida M. (Hickert) Hoover. She was one of six children. Cindy graduated from Grinnell High School in Grinnell, Kansas in 1973. She then went on to attend Brown Mackie Business College in Salina, Kansas, graduating with an Associates Degree in Business Administration.
On September 3, 1983, Cindy married Tom Kohmetscher in Grinnell. To this union two daughters were born; Laura and Betsy. The family made their home in Almena, Kansas before moving to McCook in 1990. Cindy began working at Lifetime Eyecare in 1992.
Cindy was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, the St. Patrick Altar Society and was also President of the McCook Concert Association. She served on the St. Patrick Parish Council as well as the Fox Theatre Board of Directors. Cindy enjoyed reading and traveling.
Cindy was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Hoover; and her two brothers, Barney Hoover and Charles Hoover.
She is survived by her husband, Tom Kohmetscher, of McCook; daughters, Laura Kohmetscher and Betsy Kohmetscher both of Kansas City, Missouri; mother, Ida Hoover, of Lady Lake, Florida; sisters, Chris (Lenny) Dinkel of Hays, Kansas, Brenda (Paul) Beckman of Oakley, Kansas and Barbara (Mike) Garlisi of Ocala, Florida; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and countless friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 14 from 1 to 6PM at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home in McCook.
A Rosary will be held on Monday, July 14, 7PM also at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, July 15, 10AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church in McCook with Father Gary Brethour officiating.
Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery also located in McCook.
