Dale Corder

Dale Theodore Corder died Wednesday February 17, 2010 at Mother Hull Home in Kearney. He was 87 years old.
On September 9, 1922 Dale was born in Arapahoe to John Franklin and Mable Ellen (Roggensees) Corder. He lived most of his life in McCook and graduated from McCook High School in 1941.
Dale married Alice Elizabeth Kennedy in Oberlin on May 16, 1941. To this union two boys were born, Gary and Larry.
From 1942 to 1945 he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII.
He flew an airplane for the Bureau of Reclamation and retired in 1973. He loved fishing, hunting and they traveled for many months during the winter.
He was a member of the Elks and the Masonic Lodge and the VFW and American Legion. He enjoyed his children and grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were: his parents; his wife, Alice in November of 2003; two sisters, Arlene Welters and Lila Branscomb and two brothers, Gerald and Earl Corder.
Survivors include: his sons, Gary and wife Sharon Corder of Olathe, Kansas and Larry and wife Pam Corder of Kearney; two brothers, Marvin and wife Orian Corder of Bird City, Kansas and John and wife Dorothy Corder of McCook; one sister Gwen DeVries and husband Bud of Arapahoe; two grandchildren, Laurence and wife Deb Corder and Tiffany and husband Chad Gressley and three great grandchildren.
Memorials were being accepted in his name.
Funeral services were Monday, February 22 at 11:00 at the Carpenter Breland Funeral Home with Pastor Clark Bates officiating. Burial took place in Memorial Park Cemetery of McCook.
Carpenter Breland Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
