Darlene Lusk

Darlene Ellen Lusk went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at Community Hospital. She was 91 years old.

On May 1, 1917 she was born in Stratton, NE to Floyd Edward and Edna (Thomas) Cobb. She grew up and attended school in Stratton. She married Roy Lusk in Stratton on December 24, 1937. She and Roy moved to McCook in 1941 where he worked for the railroad.

Darlene was a member of the McCook Evangelical Free Church and the McCook China Guild. She loved her family, sewing, baking and oil and china painting.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Roy, January 14, 1982; three brothers, Lyle, Bob and Paul and infant sister.

Survivors include: two sons, Larry Lusk and wife Ann and Kenneth Lusk and wife Dee all of North Platte; a daughter, Janet Mahon and husband Gene of McCook; a brother, Burel Cobb and wife Mary of Colorado Springs, CO; 10 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandsons.

Memorials were to be given in her name.

Funeral services were Friday October 3, 2008 at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home in McCook at 10 a.m. with Pastors Bruce Lester and Dale Heimer officiating. Burial took place in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Carpenter Breland Funeral Home of McCook was in charge of the arrangements.
