David Brent Hewlett

David “Dave” Brent Hewlett passed away surrounded by loved ones, on December 8, 2024, in McCook, Nebraska, at the age of 71.

Dave was born on August 6, 1953, in Twin Falls, Idaho. He graduated high school in 1971 from Burley, Idaho, and went on to pursue higher education, earning a Bachelor of Arts Idaho State University. He then furthered his academic journey with a master's degree in Agricultural Economics from Utah State University and a master's in business from University of Chicago. Throughout his professional career, Dave worked at Elanco Animal Health.

Dave married Jill Braegger on September 14, 1973, in Heyburn, Idaho. To this union, three children were born: Stacy, Bradley and Alicia.

Dave loved riding horses with his wife. He enjoyed pheasant hunting with his beloved dogs as well as training them.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Bradley David Hewlett, and two brothers, Gary and Kelly Hewett.

Dave is survived by his wife, Jill Hewlett, of McCook, Nebraska; daughters, Stacy (Brent) LeFevre of Hurricane, Utah, and Alicia (Matthew) Aptt of Denver, Colorado; his sister, Susie Fairbrother of Kuna, Idaho; six cherished grandchildren; and numerous friends and extended family.

There will be a private family service to be held at a later date.
