DeLynna Schilz

DeLynna Kay (Leitner) Schilz, age 45, of McCook, Nebraska passed away with her family by her side on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at Great Plains Regional Medical Center in North Platte, Nebraska.

Dee was born July 6, 1978 in McCook to parents Dennis and Linda (Long) Leitner. She was one of three children born to this union. Dee graduated from Central High School in Park Hill, Missouri with the Class of 1996.  Dee attended Missouri College in St Louis, Missouri. After graduation, Dee traveled to Nebraska to spend time with her grandparents, and she decided to stay. Shortly after, Dee met the love of her life, Josh Schilz. 

On August 18, 2001, Dee married Josh Schilz in McCook. After ten years of waiting, a miracle came along. The couple was blessed with a daughter, Karley Jo. She was the focus of their lives.

Dee loved spending time with family at the lake camping, boating, and trail riding off-road razers with Josh, Karley and friends. Dee also loved her dogs, Roxy and Scooter. 

Dee was preceded in death by her grandparents, Barrnett (Lola) Leitner and Wendell (Violet) Long.

Those left to celebrate her life include her husband, Josh Schilz and daughter, Karley, of McCook, NE; parents, Dennis (Linda) Leitner of North Platte, NE; brother, Matthew Leitner of Springfield, MO; sister, Andrea (Shawn) Glenn of Willard, MO; in laws, Joe (Pam) Schilz of McCook, NE; brothers and sisters in law, Bob (Suree) Schilz of Milford, Zack (Kaylee) Schilz of McCook, NE and Jeromy Schilz of McCook, NE; nieces and nephews, Brooklyn, Sydney, Cheyenne, Madison and Michael Leitner, Amberlynn, Bentley and Kylie Glenn, and Noah, Hannah, Ella and Elijah Schilz; and a large number of other family members and cherished friends.
