Dennis James Durack, Jr

Dennis James Durack passed away September 13, 2014 at his home in McCook. He was 67 years old.

Dennis was born on December 6, 1946 in Evergreen Park, Illinois to parents Dennis James and Helen Rose (Choske) Durack. He graduated from St. Laurence High School in Burbank, ILL and continued his education at Moraine Valley Community College.

Dennis entered the US Army on April 16, 1966 and served during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged on April 15, 1969.

After his time in the service Dennis worked in newspaper distributing for many years. In 2000 Dennis moved to McCook where he worked for Wal-Mart until his retirement in 2012.

Dennis was a member of the McCook Eagles where he served as secretary for many years. He was also a member of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. He was a dedicated Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears, and Northwestern Football fan. He loved dogs, playing any kind of games, irritating his sisters, and telling or playing jokes with people. He loved his many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. His grumpy demeanor, smiling face and loving generosity will truly be missed by family and friends.

A family service will be held in Illinois at a later date.
