Dennis Albert Mihm, age 58, of Indianola lost his seven-year battle with cancer Thursday, April 29, 2010 at McCook Community Hospital.
He was born on April 12, 1952, in McCook to Clifford B. and Sylvia E. (Townsend) Mihm. He grew up in Indianola and was a member of the first graduating class of Republican Valley High School in 1970. He graduated from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln in 1975 with a Bachelor's Degree in Agronomy.
He married Betsy Ann Wiegand in 1973 and to this union a daughter, Paulette, and son, Joshua, were born.
He married Mary L. (Larsen) Leibhart in Ogallala in 1997.
Dennis managed the Indianola Farmer's Coop, was a CMS for Farmland Industries, and later took over the family farm, fulfilling his life-long dream. He was a hunter and outdoorsman who loved his dogs and scouting out the territory for deer.
His parents, Clifford and Sylvia Mihm, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Mihm of Indianola; son, Joshua Mihm of Atlanta, GA; daughter, Paulette and husband, Christopher Luebbe, of Lincoln; step-daughters, Jennifer and husband, Corey Weitzel of Omaha, Wendy and husband, Brandon Boss, of Kalamazoo, MI, and Alisha and husband, Kelly Kauffman, of Omaha; ten grandchildren, Alexander and Elizabeth Luebbe; Aaron Weitzel; Noah, Presley and Keeton Kauffman; and Ava, Sophia, Henry and Lilia Boss; brother, Ronald Mihm and wife, Teresa of Lincoln; sister, Myrna Snodgrass of Exeter; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
Memorials were to be given to Community Healthcare and Hospice of McCook.
Rosary took place Sunday, May 2, 2010, 7:00 p.m. at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Indianola. Mass of Christian Burial was on Monday, May 3, 2010, 10:00 a.m. at St. Catherine's with Celebrant Father Thomas McGuire. Burial took place in St. Catherine's Cemetery.
Carpenter Breland Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
