Dixie Lee Kofler, age 80, of McCook, Ne passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 28, 2020 at her home in McCook.
Dixie was born January 11, 1940 in Holbrook, NE to parents Leonard and Bessie (Hays) Stagemeyer. Dixie was one of two children who attended school in McCook.
At a young age, Dixie married Leon “Red” Hiatt and to this union four boys were born: Dennis, Don, Doug and Ken. In January 1980, Dixie married Dennis Kofler and with this union, two stepchildren, Danny and Kim, joined the family.
Dixie worked as a caregiver for many years and was still working at the time of her death. She enjoyed spending time with her family and vacationing in Florida. Dixie was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, the Alter Society and an auxiliary member of the Eagle’s Club.
Dixie was preceded in death by her parents and one granddaughter, Amber (Hiatt) Husted.
Those left to celebrate her life include her husband, Dennis Kofler of McCook; brother, David (CJ) Stagemeyer of Hampton, VA; children, Dennis (Karen) Hiatt of McCook, Don (Linda) Hiatt of Saginaw, TX, Doug (Bobbi) Hiatt of McCook, Ken (Peggy) Hiatt of Pagosa Springs, CO, Danny (Tamra) Kofler of McCook, and Kim Mouse of Tahleguah, OK; sixteen grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; lifelong friends, Pat Dold and Shirley Carter; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
