Biography
Donald Knotts, 70, passed away at the Manor Care Nursing home in Wichita, Kansas October 18, 2009.
Donald was born in Omaha in 1939 and spent his childhood years south of Sutherland, Nebraska.
Donald was married to Louise Hesselgesser in 1963. To this union two sons were born. Gregory, and Bradley.
Donald spent most of his life as a professional Truck Driver, traveling all over the United States. In the last few years he has centered his truck driving to the Houston area where he has lived for the past 30 years.
Donald is preceded in death by his father, Thomas Knotts; mother, Bessie Knotts-Pickel, and his step-father, Alva Pickel.
He leaves to mourn his passing, his son and daughter-in-law, Gregory and Kathy Knotts, their four boys, Michael and Amanda, Ryan and Christan, Alan and Priscilla, and Austin, and eight great-grand children, all from the Houston area.
Also his son and daughter-in-law, Bradley and Sandy Knotts and their four children, Stephanie and husband Mustas Haver, Kristin and husband, Drew Covert, Steven, and Isabella Knotts, still at home, and three great grandchildren, all from the Council Bluffs, IA area.
Two sisters, Evelyn Staudenmaier, and Bonnie and Jay Johnson, and their four children, Art, Cliff, Dave and Travis all from Wichita Ks.
Graveside services were October, 30th, 11:00 AM at the Sutherland Cemetery, on the Knotts family plot, with Jerry Beckenhauer officiating.
Carpenter Breland Funeral Home was in charge of the local arrangements.
