Donna Marie Lambert

Donna Marie Lambert, died Saturday, November 21, 2009 at Hillcrest Nursing Home. She was 77 years old.
Donna was born on September 17, 1932, in Red Willow County to Leonard D. and Ida Winifred (Taylor) England. She graduated from Red Willow High School in 1950.
On June 27, 1952, she was united in marriage to Gary Rowland Lambert in McCook. To this union, two sons, Doug and Stephen were born. They made their home in McCook where they established the Lazy L Mobile Ranch until their retirement in 2009. Donna also worked for the US Post Office.
Donna was an active member of McCook Christian Church where she served in many capacities. She also was a member of the Order Eastern Star and served as a Boy Scout Leader in all levels. Among her favorites pastimes were, knitting, crocheting, canning, making noodles and camping. She enjoyed bowling with Gary in the mixed league and with the ladies' league. She went to state bowling for 25 consecutive years. She was an avid Nebraska Cornhusker football fan. They have had season tickets for many years and hardly missed a game. Her upmost joy came from spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Winifred and Leonard England; son, Stephen in January of 2008; a brother, Dale England and a niece Laura Lynn England in infancy.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Gary Lambert of McCook; son, Doug Lambert and wife, Stephanie, of McCook; one brother, Gerald England and wife, Sharon, of Mathis, TX; sister, Myrna and husband, Dean Musgrave, of Indianola; brother-in-law, Bill Lambert and wife, Jean, of Conifer, CO; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorials may be given in her name to McCook Christian Church or Boy Scouts of America.
Visitation will be Monday from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 24, 2009, 11:00 a.m. at McCook Christian Church with Pastor Clark Bates officiating. Cremation will follow the service.
