Doris Fahrenbruch

Doris Mary Fahrenbruch died Thursday, May 29, 2008, at Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook at the age of 87.

She was born in McCook on September 3, 1920 to Floyd M. and Doris M. (Jennings) Covert. She grew up in Culbertson and attended school there, graduating from the Culbertson High School in 1938.

She married Harry P. Fahrenbruch on June 16, 1940 in Culbertson. They were blessed with two sons, David and Dennis. They spent most of their married life on their farm north of Culbertson. Doris enjoyed the many groups she was involved in including; Trinity United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Methodist Choir, and Help-A-Lot Club. She was also a lifetime member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Doris Covert; and husband, Harry P. Fahrenbruch on May 16, 1997.

She is survived by her twosomes, David Fahrenbruch and wife, Delores, of McCook and Dennis Fahrenbruch of Culbertson; one sister, Marjorie Schlegel of McCook granddaughters, Judy, Anne, Christine, Nanette, and Amy; five great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials were to be given in her name.

Funeral services were Tuesday, June 3, 2008, 11:00 a.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church in Culbertson, with Rev. Richard Melano officiating. Burial took place in the Culbertson Cemetery.

Carpenter Breland Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
