Doris Grossman

Doris K. Grossman of rural McCook died Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at Hillcrest Nursing Home. She was 68.
She was born October 27, 1940 to Huel and Pauline (Scott) Payton in Burley, ID. Her family moved to McCook and she attended McCook Public Schools.
She married Billy R.Grossman in Danbury on December 19, 1959. To this union three daughters were born, Billie, Terry and Jackie.
She worked as a bookkeeper with her husband at BJ's Home Satellite Business. Over the years, she also worked for the Electric Hose Plant, TRW, M & E Café©, Super 8 and the Red Horse Motels. Because of her love of animals, Doris was owner and operator of a Kennel Keeping Service.
Doris enjoyed her family, especially around the holidays. She liked fishing, stock car races, bowling and being with her cats and dogs. She loved the outdoors.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Huel and Pauline Payton; two infant sons, Scottie and Robert Grossman.
She is survived by her husband, Billy Grossman of rural McCook; daughters, Billie Vaught of McCook, Terry Grossman and special friend, Susan Dixson of Kearney, and Jackie Nitsch and husband, Mike, of Hayes Center; sister, Phyllis Kotschwar and husband, Kent of McCook; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; one niece and three nephews.
Memorials were to be given in her name.
A memorial gathering was held Friday, October 9, 2009 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home. Inurnment took place at a later date in the Danbury-Marion Cemetery.
Carpenter Breland Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
