Dorothy J. Duckworth, 86, died Saturday, August 27, 2005 at Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook.
She was born June 23, 1919 to Homer and Mabel (Bohling) Hampy in Florence, Missouri. She married John G. Duckworth in California, Missouri on January 26, 1946.
She was a member of the Indianola United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and the Riverside Club. She worked at the Boothray Memorial Hospital in Goodland, KS., the Lawrence Memorial Hospital, Lawrence, Kansas, and the Cambridge Memorial Hospital in Cambridge for 16 years. She was a resident of Hillcrest Nursing Home since 1993.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John; parents; infant son James; and infant sister Leanna.
Survivors include two sons, Bob and wife Deb, and Frank and wife Brenda all of Indianola; daughter, Donna Stanzel and husband Dave of Bartley; five grandchildren, Daniel Duckworth, Phoenix AZ., Toni Lynn Duckworth, McCook, Melissa and husband Jeremy Markey of Grand Junction, CO., Jeremy Stanzel of Okinawa, Japan and Bryan Duckworth of North Platte NE; one great-grandchild, Liberty Grace Markey; and two step-great-grandchildren, Zidane Markey and Aspen Robinson.
Funeral Service were Wednesday at the Indianola United Methodist Church with Rev. David Rowe officiating. Burial took place in the Indianola Cemetery
Memorials may be given in her name.
Carpenter Breland Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
