Dr. John Carlson Grove died Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at North Platte Great Plains Regional Medical Center as a result of a massive heart attack. He was 51 years old.
Dr. Grove was born on November 25, 1955, in Omaha to Vel and Amy B. (Carlson) Grove. He graduated from Benson High School in 1974. He furthered his education at Washington University in St. Louis and the UN Medical Center in Omaha.
On March 18, 1983, he married Marilee M. Sieh in Kearney, WI. To this union two children were born. They made their home in McCook where Dr. Grove was a family practitioner at the McCook Clinic and later in Minden.
Dr. Grove’s hobbies included photography, computers, vintage cars, gardening and spending time with his children and two dogs, Dudley and Chloe.
Preceding him in death were his paternal and maternal grandparents.
Survivors include his wife, Marilee Grove of McCook; children Amy and Stephen Grove of McCook; parents, Vel and Amy Grove of Omaha; father and mother-in-law, Clayton and Jean Sieh of Hayward, WI; two brothers, Timothy Grove and wife, Colleen, of Omaha and Paul Grove and wife, Karen, of Bennington; and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Memorials may be given in his name.
Funeral services were held on Friday, April 13, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Community Church, Omaha, with Pastor Irving Malm officiating. Burial was in Westlawn Hillcrest Cemetery.
Carpenter Breland Funeral Home of McCook is in charge of the arrangements.
