Edith Lorraine (Troxell) Persinger, age 75 of Oberlin, Kansas passed away Friday, February 24, 2012 at the Decatur County Hospital in Oberlin, Kansas.
Edith was born in Culbertson, Nebraska on June 28, 1936 to Homer Ira and Myrtle E. (Barnes) Troxell the youngest of nine children. Edith graduated from McCook High School in 1954.
Edith married Donald Fuller on February 14, 1956 and to this union two children were born. She later married Royse Persinger on March 13, 1966 and to this union two children were born.
During Ediths adult life she lived in Parks, NE, Atwood, KS, Trenton, NE, Morse, TX and most recently Oberlin, KS. In addition to being a homemaker, Edith worked for Ideal Laundry, was a house parent for Beamguard School, a dispatcher in Trenton and also cooked at the Frontier Restaurant in Oberlin.
Edith is preceded in death by her parents, husband Donald Fuller, infant son Daniel Fuller, husband Royse Persinger, granddaughter Chelsie Davis, grandson Chad Davis, four brothers, Jack Troxell, Maurice Troxell, Gale Troxell, and Homer Troxell Jr., and four sisters, Virginia Lorimer, Peggy Ramsor, Rita Jilg, and Barbra Unger.
Edith is survived by her daughters Debra and husband Scott Davis of Morse, TX, and Deanna and husband Doug Harrison of Lebanon, NE and son Dewight Persinger of Oberlin, KS. Also surviving are four grandsons, Donnie and wife Kasandra Davis and great granddaughter Kaylee Davis of Perryton, TX, Aaron Harrison of Oberlin, KS, Jimmy Harrison of Goodland, KS, and Stephen Harrison of Lebanon, NE.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 28, 2012 from 1 to 8 p.m. at Carpenter-Breland Funeral Home in McCook.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at Carpenter-Breland Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Duncan, officiating. Cremation will follow the service and a private inurnment will be held at a later date in the Riverside Cemetery in Wauneta, NE.
