Ervin Eugene Patterson

Ervin Eugene Patterson of Hayes Center passed away on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at Community Hospital in McCook. He was 85 years old.

Ervin was born on September 14, 1927 at Callaway, Nebraska to parents, Grant O. and Anna Belle (Williams) Patterson. He attended school through the eighth grade. The family eventually moved to the Hayes Center Community.

Ervin farmed and raised cattle southeast of Hayes Center until his retirement. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. His hobby was collecting bears and spending time with family and friends.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Grant and Anna Patterson; brothers, Kenneth, Floyd, Ralph and Emery Patterson; sisters, Gladys Patterson and May Loy Lloyd; nephews, Alvin Patterson and Warren Patterson; and niece, Lois Bryant.

Survivors include his sister, Dorothy Callander of Hayes Center; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

Memorials may be given in his name.

Visitation will be Thursday, November 1, 2012, from 1-8:00 p.m. at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home in McCook. Friends may send condolences to the family at www.carpenterbreland.com

Funeral services will be Friday, November 2, 2012, 10:30 a.m. at Bethel Baptist Church in Hayes Center with Pastor Luke Wolford officiating. Burial will follow at Hayes Center Cemetery.
