Everett George Fisher of Oberlin, KS, originally of McCook, died Friday, December 15, 2006 at Decatur County Hospital in Oberlin. He was 84 years old.
Everett was born on December 26, 1921, in Lebanon, NE to Andrew George and Bessie Elizabeth (Hiatt) Fisher. He grew up in the Cambridge community.
On August 27, 1942, he entered the US Army and served during World War II. He was honorably discharged on January 7, 1946.
He married Florence McDowell in Oberlin, KS on October 31, 1944. To this union three children were born. They made their home in McCook where they were owners and operators of Fisher Produce. When their health failed they moved to Decatur Good Samaritan Center in Oberlin. Florence preceded him in death on April 13, 2005.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Andrew and Bessie Fisher; his wife, Florence Fisher; brother, Eldwin Fisher; and one sister, Ella DeMark.
Survivors include his son, Harold Fisher and his wife, Diane, of Culbertson; two daughters, Colleen Geihsler of Oberlin and Cheryl and husband, Dale Stewart, of Indianola; one brother, Andrew Fisher, Jr. and wife, Dorothy, of Gretna; two sisters, Mary and husband, Marty Maranville, of Sedona, AZ and Erma Hisel of Seattle, WA; seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be given in his name.
Funeral services were at Carpenter Breland Chapel with Jerry Beckenhauer officiating on Monday, December 18, 2006.
Burial took place in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Carpenter Breland Funeral Home of McCook was in charge of the arrangements.
