Florence Berneice Fisher died Wednesday, April 13, 2005 at Decatur County Good Samaritan Center in Oberlin, Kansas. She was 79 years old.
Florence was born on December 16, 1925 at Trenton, Nebraska to Arthur and Lena (Hiatt) McDowell. She graduated from Trenton High School in 1944.
On October 31, 1944, she married Everett George Fisher. To this union three children were born. They made their home in McCook where Florence was a homemaker. They were owner/operators of Fisher's Produce for many years. After they sold their business, Florence worked for Brown's Shoe Fit for 12 years until her retirement. She had been living in Oberlin for the past ten years.
She was a member of the McCook Eagles and Veteran's Auxiliary. She enjoyed traveling and dancing. Her greatest enjoyment came from her children and grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Arthur and Lena McDowell; and one sister Louise Ellis.
Survivors include her husband, Everett Fisher of Oberlin; one son, Harold Fisher and wife, Diane, of Culbertson; two daughters, Colleen Geihsler of Oberlin and Cheryl and husband, Dale Stewart, of Indianola; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be given in her name.
Funeral service were Saturday, April 16, 2005, 11:00 a.m. at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home with Jerry Beckenhauer officiating. Burial took place in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Carpenter Breland Funeral Home of McCook was in charge of the arrangements.
