Forrest "Frosty" William Quick

Forrest "Frosty" William Quick died at Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook, Saturday September 26, 2009. He was 96 years old.

He was born at Odell, NE in Gage, Co on August 6, 1913 the son of the late John T. and Mary (With) Quick. He had five sisters.

His family later moved to Grant, NE where he attended school and grew to manhood. He was baptized and became a member of the Congregational Church of Grant later moving his membership to Trenton, NE.

On November 2, 1935 Frosty married Margaret Whipps. In December of 1937 they moved to Trenton and he was in business until 1997. To this union was born two children, a daughter, Colleen Kay Schoolcraft of Lancaster, SC and a son, Gary Lee Quick of Denver.

Frosty was a past Scout Master served time as a City board member and School board member. He was a lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge, a Past Worshipful Master, Eastern Star, and a Past Worthy Patron.

He had his own plane, loved to fly and play golf.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary; wife, Margaret on September 19, 2009; and his sisters.

He is survived by his daughter, Colleen and husband, Robert; son, Gary and wife, Sharon; grandchildren, Lisa, Eric, Jody, Chad, Kyle, Tisha, Doug, Brian, Brad and Chad; and 23 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials were to be given in his name to the Alzheimer's association.

Memorial services were Saturday, 10:00 a.m. October 24, 2009 at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home with Pastor Fay Ann Blaylock officiating. Inurnment took place Friday in the Grant Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. MDT.
