Frances M. Trail, 92, died Monday, December 27, 2004 at Hillcrest Nursing Home.

She was born August 28, 1912 to Lynn Bartlett and Helena Margaret (Hellriegel) Hoyt in Hitchcock County (Rural Culbertson) in her grandparent’s home.

She attended District 68 School and graduated from McCook High School in 1930. She also attended McCook Junior College and much later graduated from McCook Community College in 1977.

She married Doane O. Trail at Goodland, KS on August 10, 1931 and to this union four children were born.

She was a member of the McCook United Methodist Church, Eastern Star, Gingham Gals Extension Club and McCook China Painters.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, Doane on January 16, 1995, and sister, Elynnor Trail.

Survivors include: two daughters, Margaret Nielsen and husband Dale of Lexington and Virginia Trail and husband Vern Tweedie of Teec Nos Pos, AZ; two sons, Richard and wife Ann of McCook and Thomas Trail of Long Pine; a great-grandson they raised from early childhood through college, Karl Siebuhr and wife Cami of Kettering, OH; 13 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Memorials may be given to Memorial United Methodist Church or Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook.

Funeral Services will be Friday, (December 31, 2004) 10 a.m. at the Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Jeffrey Thurman officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday 4 – 7 p.m. and Thursday 9 a.m. - 8 p.m.

Carpenter Breland Funeral Home of McCook is in charge of the arrangements.
