Gary Roland Lambert

Gary Roland Lambert, age 78, died Monday, May 03, 2010 at Hillcrest Nursing Home.

He was born November 15, 1931 to I. Wayne and Clara F. (Rowland) Lambert in McCook. He graduated from McCook High in 1951.

He was united in marriage to Donna Marie England in McCook on June 27, 1952. They made their home in McCook, where he owned and operated the Lazy L Mobile Ranch for more than 50 years.

Gary was a member of McCook Christian Church, where he served as elder for over 40 years, he was a leader for Boy Scouts of America Tri-Trails and Overland Trail Council, and was a member of the McCook Masonic Lodge #135. He enjoyed bowling, camping, hunting, fishing, construction work and was an avid Cornhusker fan.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Donna on November of 2009; and son Stephen January of 2008; brother-in-law, Dale England.

He is survived by his son, Doug Lambert and wife, Stephanie, of McCook; brother, William Lambert and wife, Jean, of Conifer, CO; brother-in-law, Jerry England and wife, Sharon of Mathis, TX; sister-in-law, Myrna Musgrave and husband, Dean of Indianola; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Memorials were to be given in his name to McCook Christian Church or Boy Scouts of America Overland Trail Council.

Funeral services were Thursday, May 6, 2010, 5:00 p.m. at McCook Christian Church with Pastor Clark Bates officiating. Cremation followed the service with a private family burial in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Carpenter Breland Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
