George A. Foster died Saturday December 3, 2005 at McCook Community Hospital. He was 93 years old.
He was born November 1, 1912 in Gothenburg to Angeloah and Martha (Sikorski) Foster. He graduated from Brady High School in 1931. He enjoyed wood working and making household furniture. He worked as a carpenter and was the manager of McCook Lumber Company for over 20 years,
George was in the U. S. Navy from 1932 until 1936. During World War II he worked in the Mare Island Ship yard in Vallejo, California.
On February 6, 1942 he married Kathleen D. Child in Gordon at the Presbyterian Church parsonage. To this union three boys were born.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Earl; sisters, Marguerite, Frances, and Rosemary.
Survivors include his wife, Kathleen of McCook; sons, David Foster and wife Theresa of Eagle, Colorado, John Foster and wife Dona of Golden, Colorado, and Kirby Foster of Windsor, Colorado; numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be given in his name.
Funeral services were Friday, December 9, 2005 at Carpenter Breland Chapel with The Rev. Dr. Jeff Thurman officiating. Burial took place in Ft. McPherson National Cemetery at Maxwell.
Carpenter Breland Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
