Gerald E. Sines of McCook died Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at Community Hospital in McCook. He was 91 years old.
On March 20, 1918, Gerald was born at Marion, Nebraska to Lester and Lela (VanPelt) Sines.
He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II from 1942 to 1945.
LeeOra Leist and Gerald were married in Osborne, Kansas on April 5, 1942.
After school, he started working for Miller Dairy. He later purchased Zip Delivery in McCook. After the sale of his business, he started working for Beacon Moving in Chicago as a truck driver until his retirement. He enjoyed working and traveling all over the United States.
He was a lifetime member of the Assembly of God Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, Virgil and Cleith; and a sister, Virginia Harsch.
Survivors include his wife, LeeOra and a sister, Carolyn and husband Gary Leitner all of McCook.
Memorials were being accepted in his name.
Funeral services were Saturday, March 13th, 10:30 a.m. at the Assembly of God Church in McCook with Rev. Jamie Mockry officiating. Burial took place in the Dresden, Kansas Cemetery.
Carpenter Breland Funeral Home of McCook was in charge of the arrangements.
