Gerald Dean “Pudge” Sitzman of Indianola died Friday, December 16, 2005 at Bryan LGH East in Lincoln. He was 70 years old.
He was born June 17, 1935 at Culbertson to Henry C. and Helen (Hill) Sitzman. He graduated from Culbertson High School in 1952 and lived in this area all his life.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1954 – 1957. He worked at Dayco Hose Plant from 1977 until 2002 when he retired.
He married Peggy N. (Kinne) Zwickle at the United Methodist Church in Indianola on September 26, 1981.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents; a sister, Betty and her husband Gene Schwenk and a sister-in-law, Marilyn Sitzman; and a mother-in-law, Evelyn Kinne.
Survivors include: his wife Peggy of Indianola; three sons, Gary Sitzman and wife Barbara of Kearney, Ronnie Sitzman and wife Darla of Grand Island and Randy Zwickle and wife Chris of McCook; a daughter, Roseanne and husband Jeff Ahlemeyer of Wilsonville; 14 grandchildren, one great-grandchild; two brothers, Dick Sitzman of Indianola and Bill Sitzman and wife Sharon of Culbertson; three sisters, Marianne Cole and husband Kenneth of Indianola, Barb Brown and husband Dolyn of Culbertson and Kathy Dueter of McCook.
Memorials are being accepted in his name.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Indianola with Rev. David Rowe officiating. Burial will be in the Indianola Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday from 9 a.m. - 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9 a.m. – 8 p.m. at the funeral home in McCook. Friends may go online at www.carpenterbreland.com to extend condolences.
